Growing up in the Southern District, artist LeonLollipop travelled daily by bus across the district. These journeys inspired him to develop a deep affection for the area’s soothing scenery and instilled in him a lasting sense of adventure.

Gloomie Cat's Southern Journey blends several locations in the Southern District with artistic imagination, weaving the tale of Gloomie Cat in search of his missing feline friends. From Ap Lei Chau to Stanley, each chapter of the story is steeped in local culture and the artist’s own memories of place.

Members of the public are invited to pick up a map and follow Gloomie Cat’s “treasure hunt” through the district, encountering charming scenery and community spirit along the way. Presented through a giant cat doll installation, paintings and murals, the work fuses art with the stories of place.
